The Signal Jammer Buying Guide

Many people aren’t familiar with signal blockers and often feel lost when choosing one. We frequently get emails from customers asking for advice on picking the right product. So, we put together this guide to help you find the jammer that best suits your needs.

Identify the Signals You Want to Block

First, you need to determine which signals you want to block. You don’t need to know the exact frequency bands, but you should at least know what type of signals you want to block, like phone signals, WiFi or GPS signals. Most of our products can handle multiple signals. Take the K403 for example — it can block mobile phone signals, GPS, WiFi, and Lojack all at once. But, here’s the cool part: our products come with DIP switches that let you control each channel independently. So, if you only want to block WiFi and leave the other channels off, that’s totally doable.

For more advanced users who need jammers for specific frequencies, we offer custom solutions. We can tailor the jammer to work within a frequency range of 20MHz to 6GHz. If you need something customized, just shoot us an email, and our customer service team will be happy to assist you.

Portable or Desktop?

The second thing to consider is whether you need a portable or desktop jammer. This is crucial because choosing the wrong type can impact how well the jammer works. We’ve had a few cases where customers picked the wrong kind and ended up requesting refunds.

Here’s our advice: if you need to use the jammer for extended periods, go with a desktop model. Portable jammers are designed for short-term use. For instance, we had a customer who chose a portable jammer and ran it while charging overnight. The next morning, the device made a slight noise due to prolonged charging. Also, running a portable jammer while charging can actually drain the battery. This happens because the input voltage during charging is 2V, but the device runs on 5V, so the output exceeds the input, causing the battery to deplete even if it’s plugged in.

What Range Should I Choose?

First, it’s important to note that the range listed in our product descriptions represents the maximum distance achievable under ideal conditions. In real-world situations, various factors can affect this range, and it might not always match the specified distance. For example, using a jammer indoors can significantly reduce its effectiveness due to walls and other obstructions.

If you need a longer range, we recommend opting for a desktop jammer since they have higher power and can block signals more effectively. You can also use multiple jammers to cover a larger area more comprehensively. If you’re unsure about how many devices you need, you can email us a floor plan of the area you want to cover. We’ll provide a free assessment to help you achieve complete coverage without any dead spots.
